From 31st January 2025, it will be a legal requirement for hauliers to complete a Safety and Security (S&S) declaration for all goods entering the UK.

Key Points to Note:

A valid S&S Movement Reference Number (MRN) must be added to your Goods Movement Reference (GMR).
The carrier (operator of the transport vehicle) is responsible for ensuring the declaration is submitted on time.
Only a representative or third party, with the carrier’s consent, can submit the declaration.
Failure to complete the S&S declaration before reaching the port of export may result in delays or fines.
